Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week is an annual program where people across the country come together to highlight the critical issues of hunger and homelessness. This year, organizations across Chester County are joining forces to hold events that raise awareness and provide support for those affected by hunger and homelessness.

♦ Poverty Simulation
Friday, November 15th, 2024

Phoenixville YMCA
Participate in an interactive simulation that provides insight into the struggles faced by individuals living in poverty.

♦ Know Your Rights as a Renter

Brandywine Valley Active Aging, Coatesville Campus
Gain essential knowledge on renters’ rights and resources to support housing stability.

  • Assess your budget and savings plan

May 1st – Meet a realtor – A realtor will discuss:

May 8th – Car buying: Put Yourself in the Driver’s Seat – An auto broker will help you:

 
  • Learn how to research the kind of car you need, want, and can afford to buy
  • Figure out how to pay for a car
  • Understand all of the steps of the car-buying process
May 15 – Paying for College – A financial officer will:
 
  • Explain the cost of schooling
  • Explore the various ways to finance your or your child(ren)’s education via government loans and grants, as well as private scholarships and loans
